As an artist, my approach revolves around two very distinct interests. The first pertains to the project Points de cœur du monde. The project, an ambitious one, aims to install sculptures shaped symbolically as a heart in as many countries as possible.
Each heart is meant to represent a pressure point of mother earth. Regardless of size and shape, each heart bears the same symbolic value. To this day, twelve points de cœur, heart beats could one say, have been installed in different countries, namely in China, France, Brazil, Mexico and Canada. Some are in the making; others are in the negotiation stage.
The second aspect of my work is drawing. For a number of years now, I’ve been devoting myself to the practice of drawing on a daily and intensive basis.
I’m particularly fascinated by the rock drawings that adorn the caves of Lascaux and other such sites of rock art. This ongoing concern coupled with an artistic impulse explains why I practice drawing so intensely, using the animal shape as a bridge between man and earth.More recently, I have added hands to my drawings, as a symbol of man’s actions and designs on nature.
